Frequently asked questions

We are dedicated to providing thorough and compassionate autism testing and evaluation services for adults and adolescents in Alabama. Our approach is designed to be supportive and informative, guiding each person through all step of the process with care.

Can someone be too old to get tested?

No, no one is too old to be tested for autism. We provide evaluations for adults and adolescents aged 16 and older.

How much does testing cost?

The total cost for evaluation which includes assessment and a one hour follow up results appointment is $875

If letters recommending work or school accommodations or describing functional abilities are requested, we charge $125 per hour for that service.

Can a diagnosis of autism qualify for work accommodations or social security disability?

The simple answer is maybe. A workplace is required to provide employees "reasonable accommodations"; however, what a workplace considers "reasonable" will vary depending on many factors such as the type of industry and the essential functions of a job. For social security disability, there are many factors that go into that determination. We can supply you with letters recommending that SSI/SSDI be approved, but we make no promises or guarantees about a favorable decision. We bill $125 per hour for time spent writing letters.

How soon can I get an appointment?

We currently offer an initial appointment within 2 weeks, with testing scheduled approximately 2 weeks after that and results provided within 4 weeks after testing.

Is it ok to bring someone along for an evaluation appointment(s)?

Yes, but they must wait in our waiting area during testing. Having a family member who can answer questions about childhood symptoms can be very helpful for the evaluation process.

What can a client expect from the moment they first contact you until I receive my evaluation results?

During initial contact, we will discuss any concerns and gather background information. Following this, we'll schedule the testing session, which involves various assessments. Finally, there will be a results appointment where we discuss the findings and provide a comprehensive report.
